What would make an Ex-Jw go back to been a full in Baptized JW
by LOLS ini was just wondering , why would my jw husband return to been a full blown baptized jw after 20 years of fading?.
he has spent 20 years of his life been a worldly person , with a worldly wife & kids & worldly friends .... to joining the borg full time , to getting baptized , to getting new brothers & sisters .... and to writing off most of his worldly friends (some his known his whole life ) , to trying to convince me & our children how wonderful this org is ......and anyone else who will listen :(.
has anyone ever experienced this ...... oh and he seems to be in it 110% and no-one can say anything about this crazy org or show him proof that it all bs...... his such a clever independent , successful guy , why on earth would he go back to this , after been out for so many years & change into this domineering , opinionated fool ..... oh and his entire family also went back ... father , mother , brother & sister .

If Angels in the Bible are of neuter gender ? Then why are they always depicted as males by description and name ? And never a female ?
by smiddy3 inin all of the art i`ve seen in christendom, angels always have the form of a male, and in the bible those that are named always have a male name such as michael ,gabriel , etc, .
nowhere in the art world that i have seen do angels have the female form, and in the bible they don`t have female names.. so if the angels are neither male or female why then are they depicted as males with male names ?and not female also ?.
the watchtower illustrators also follow this line .when they illustrate an angel it is always in the form of a male and never a female form.. the anointed who make up the 144000 comprise of male and females right ?

Just reflecting on how oblivious I was to WT
by joe134cd iniām just sitting by the beach and i was thinking at just how oblivious i was to the religion that i followed.
i have mentioned this in past posts and am using this experience as an example not so much to demonstrate what happened but more of my reaction to it:.
there was a kh in my local area that 5 years previous had internal renovations done it.

Weren't we all like that? Maybe not everyone, but once you have it in mind that they would never do anything underhanded or deceitful, you aren't going to investigate your doubts. You'll just excuse them and think you are wrong in thinking them.

What do the Angels do?

I always thought that being an angel would be boring - at least for the ones that had to hang around god and say holy holy holy. An everlasting job of doing that would fry anyone's brain.

I don't know why you say that angels aren't in art. Whether female angels are in the bible or not, those that believe in heaven, envision female angels. Because of their motherly feelings ( i imagine) they are often portrayed around graves. People, male and female, would go to heaven and so wha lah, female angels.

Am I shunned here?
by caves inlately i been sifting though my many emotions after being here on this site.
i feel ive been all over the map just trying to come to grips with the information.
but through all this i feel i'm shunned here as of late due to my (all over the place =-ness).

Hi caves. Sometimes when a subject is difficult, I don't reply or get in the conversation because I may not understand it or experienced it.
Comparing yourself to others that have a different personality or perspective can be disheartening. For example - my sister and I have very different personalities and experiences being raised in the truth. I was never baptized but she was and lived a very JW life. I suffered because of feeling like an outcast from the rest of the in family and still somehow believing that it was true. I believed I would die at Armageddon. My sister on the other hand, lived the "normal" jw life tho she wasn't a fanatical one. When things happened to reveal that the WT wasn't all what they said and were in fact just greedy hypocritical men - we left. For the most part, my sister has packed up and moved on from the WT. Not that she isn't mad about being lied to but she doesn't want the WT to take any more of her life. I on the other hand, have struggled. Mostly from trying to figure out life and what to do. I get depressed because I haven't any friends and feel down about trying to change things.
When I post here, I don't expect a lot of replies because sometimes it's just me venting or because an idea popped up in my head and I want to see what others think about it. My personality is a little odd so that is another reason not to expect a lot of results.
Anyway, the WT purposely booby traps your mind with it's carefully presented phobias and rules. Sometimes you don't even know what you are thinking is from them. Hope you can come out of your cave.

I don't remember celebrating xmas tho relatives would give us a few presents at that time - more than our JW mother ever did for my whole life.
My most pleasant memories was of the neighbor girl's tree. The smell of the tree combined with the big hot bulbs of multi colored lights that looked like they were from Candyland is the best for me. Otherwise I haven't any feeling for it. Same thing with birthdays etc. I feel bad about trees killed for no reason - they aren't even good for burning.
